Dental Care Services for Pets

Regular brushing and routine cleanings can help prevent gum disease. Contact us for more details.

Dental disease can arise due to multiple causes, one of them being bacteria. Bacteria can secrete into the bloodstream and spread the infection to various parts of the body and deteriorate your pet's health. As caretakers, we must pay attention to all aspects of our pet's health starting at a young age. Most pets develop some form of dental disease by the age of 3. If you are concerned about your pet's dental health, give us a call at 905-853-3591.

Is anesthesia required to perform dental cleaning and other dental procedures?

Veterinarians use X-rays and sharp tools while performing dental procedures. To ensure your pet's safety, get clearer X-rays and avoid complications, anesthesia is used to help your pet have a safe and successful procedure.

How can I care for my cat's teeth?

You should brush your cat's teeth daily or at least twice per week. You should start brushing them when they are kittens to help them get acquainted. You can use your finger (covered in a glove or use a piece of gauze for kittens to cover the finger) to brush your kitten's teeth. Please do not use human toothpaste as the high fluoride content can cause them to fall seriously ill. You can buy dental kits from a veterinary clinic or store. Pro-tip: You can dip your finger in water from a tuna can to help your cat feel more comfortable!

I can't brush my pet's teeth as often as I would like. What can I do?

Regular brushing can help improve your pet's overall dental health. However, if you are not able to do so regularly, you should speak with our veterinarian to discuss alternative care. You can invest in dental products such as dental chews that target your pet's specific dental issues.
