Vaccines for Puppies & Dogs

Vaccines are an effective way to protect your pet against harmful diseases.

Did you know the area you live in can have an impact on what vaccinations your pet might need? If you live in an area with a prevalence of a viral or bacterial disease, your vet might recommend your pet take vaccines to prevent them from contracting diseases. Vaccines are essential preventatives that stimulate the pet's immune system and protect them from fatal diseases. To schedule your pet's next vaccination, give us a call at 905-853-3591.

Can I take my puppy out after the first vaccination?

You can take your puppy out after the first set of vaccinations but be careful of where you take them. It is advised to avoid areas where other pets are present, as your pet is not completely immune yet. Full immunity will be obtained after the second set of inoculations.

What vaccines should my puppy not miss?

Puppies must receive all core vaccines as they are essential in preventing fatal and infectious diseases. Deadly amongst them are rabies, parvo, and distemper.

What non-core vaccines does my dog require?

Non-core vaccinations are administered based on the veterinarian's recommendation. Your veterinarian will recommend vaccines based on your dog's lifestyle and the risk of certain diseases in areas you live in or travel to.
